A Casino company called Sun Cruz Casino close on Dec 16th 2009 with out notice leaving three casino boats and nearly 300 employees with no jobs.
The company had made no attempt to tell the employees or clients of the casino boats about the closure. I think companies like this should be accountable for some of the actions they took. Instead of coming out and explaining to employees and clients that the company was in trouble they lied. They continued to lie stating weather, audits and other factors where the reason for not operating the three boats the company owners.
Whats even worse is that the news did not even put very much pressure on the company to explain itself. No federal or state agency stepped up to find out what was going on.
The company owes the port fees of over $200,000 in one location.
Local news channels 9 and 6 did a small story on it and an article in the Jacksonville Times on 12/18/2009. Here are the web pages for you if you would like to view them:

According to Sun Cruz Casino they are in the process of selling the company but there is no news on whom is buying, or if the sale is going to really happen. The company refuses to give out any information.
They had no problem however leaving employees with no jobs.
